Wild Wood Case study

Wild Wood

The Assignment

The Wild Wood in Bristol needed another profit driver outside the food offer to attract a stream of customers throughout the day, outside of the traditional ‘busy’ periods. The offer needed to attract employees from local businesses and to encourage them to view Wild Wood as a meeting venue.

Our Approach

The United Coffee team recommended a premium speciality coffee offer to suit the environment of the venue and type of customer Dominic was looking to attract.

Aimee, Key Account Exec United Coffee, installed a Victoria Arduino Leva espresso machine into the Wild Wood, “The chrome machine is hand-crafted in Italy and is not only a statement piece, but offers the barista-style theatre that will appeal to a more premium audience.”

The machine is located front-of-house on the end of the bar and can be seen clearly through the window. It’s a real show-stopper that instils confidence in the customer.

To ensure that the staff were producing the best quality coffee every time, Aimee co-ordinated a full barista training programme for the Wild Wood staff, including latte art to create a high-quality finish and that all important ‘wow’ factor.

Aimee is also working with the Wild Wood to promote the offer through a full range of bespoke POS material that will include a coffee menu, tent cards and an A-board to attract passers-by.

The Result

The Wild Wood is a case in point to demonstrate profit potential. Hot drink sales have rocketed by 75% following United Coffee’s installation of a full coffee offer and the high level of training that has been provided.

Aimee will continue to work with Dominic to keep the offer fresh, providing the Wild Wood with regular new products and updates, serving ideas and refresher training sessions to encourage continual development and creativity.

“The phenomenal success we’ve had is largely down to the training we’ve received from United Coffee. The key for me is the uniformity in the preparation and the way the coffee is served.  Every cup has the wow factor and I think that sets people’s minds up for an enjoyable experience before they even taste it.”
