United Coffee has launched a new addition to its Grand Café brand – premium blend Grand Cru hand-crafted, credible coffee. Sourced from some of the world’s finest plantations Grand Cru hand-crafted, credible coffee is the champagne of the coffee world.
“Grand Cru hand-crafted, credible coffee has excelled in blind tastings for its character, complexity and extraordinary flavour. Its character is fruit-sweet and honey-thick to taste, creating a rich flavour that celebrates what great coffee is truly about. The subtle flavours will impress any coffee connoisseur – you could liken it to a fine wine,” comments Elaine Higginson, managing director United Coffee UK and Ireland.
“There is an increasing trend for less milky, more concentrated coffee served in smaller measures which puts a huge emphasis on quality and flavour - Grand Cru hand-crafted, credible coffee helps operators meet this demand perfectly,” continues Elaine.
All United Coffee customers are trained on how to deliver the Grand Cru experience, ensuring the best flavour is extracted and serving guidelines are met, for example it is always served in an 8oz cup. In addition to training, United Coffee helps its customers to communicate the premium experience with point-of-sale material.
“We pay a premium price to ensure the coffee beans are fully traceable and from plantations where growers take time and care to nurture and craft the quality of their crop, helping growers in achieving a sustainable future,” concludes Elaine.
Each coffee adds a different quality to the final espresso. The 30% Colombian ‘Agua Azul’ gives mouth-feel, 30% Kenyan ‘Gethumbwini’ adds dry citrus tones, 30% Costa Rican ‘La Pira’ adds grape-like acidity and toffee apple notes and 10% El Salvador ‘Las Delicias’ creates a chocolate finish. All the coffees have been selected from the country’s best harvest and two are Cup of Excellence award winners. With each new harvest, the blend will develop, reflecting the best of the season and the vibrancy of the coffee’s fruit.
